Where we at

The past 2 months we have had a team here with us in Chiang Rai, so life has been pretty hectic and I haven't really had time to do much else besides family, farm and team. The rainy season has finally ended, giving us time to harvest our rice and plant all our veggies. The rain this year was long and hard, so a lot of our veggies went rotten in the soggy ground which was a shame. And our bees struggled with the constant rain too.

We have had a few new additions to the farm these past few months. Ones that should be great for our kids and also for our sustainability. Firstly we bought a pregnant pig called Strawberry. Amazingly the previous owners looked after for for the last week of her pregnancy and also the first 10 days the piglets were born so we didn't have to worry about making any mistakes in that area. Right now we have 12 piglets almost ready to be weaned! We will wean them over the next week and then they will be ready for new homes. We are giving 2 to Lijoo, 2 to Nakong and 2 to Bethany kids home. We are hoping our pigs will be able to be the gifts that keep giving in our local area. We may keep one female on as an extra breeder for when Strawberry gets older.

We are also adding in a few new pig pens to house our breeders and lock them in at night. As in the past we've had pigs escaping and eating chickens at night, we want to be able to lock them up and sleep soundly. Its looking really good and they should be in there within a few days!

Just 2 weeks ago when John and I were buying straw at a dairy farm, we met some calves and next thing you know we own 2! HAHA. Typical. We fundraised for them online, and were able to buy a male and female. We are wanting to use them in therapy as well as eventually milk the female (you may have seen her - her name is Carrie). They are super sweet and fit in well at the farm.

The ducks and chickens are laying well. Most of the goats are pregnant, so we are expecting kids over the next 2 months. As a whole the farm is looking reasonably good and we are finally getting somewhere on the organic front. Our rice, even though not amazing, is much better this year than it was last year. So i guess its very much a slow learning process as we get our heads around each area of farming sustainably.

The kids are doing well. They are all in school and love playing with their friends, helping out on the farm and playing sports. We would love prayer in relation to parenting kids who have experienced childhood trauma. We know at least one of the boys has reactive attachment disorder, and this can be quite stressful and draining as we struggle to deal with it. I also lose patience very easily - thus the need for a prayer covering. Also pray that someone with experience can come alongside us and help us offer the right therapy so that this doesn't develop into a long term behavioural disorder.

Thanks for your constant support and prayer
Be blessed and drop us a line
