The perfect land pretty much fell into our laps over the past two months. It is 20-30 minutes out of town. You only need to take one turn off the highway, drive about 5 kilometres through gorgeous mountains covered in tea bushes and rice fields and you are there. If you accidentally drive too far you will hit a gorgeous lake within 1 minute. We could not have imagined a more perfect location. And the best part was it was found by a local Christian Real Estate Agent who is married to a friend of ours. What a blessing to know God is in it.
So 2 weeks ago we took out a loan and paid them the first half of the asking price, and we will pay the next half before May 2015. All money that has been donated to the farm was also collected into this first payment.
Last Saturday was our first day out there. The previous tenants were not clean people by any means, so a bunch of friends turned up to help and we spent the day picking up rubbish and cleaning out the bamboo hut. It was feral. Mouldy food, dead animals, clothes with wasp nests and mattresses eaten by rats was just the start of it. But we managed to fill about 15 garbage bags and we slept there that night. Over the next few weeks we will spend most weekends out there clearing, cleaning, building animal shelters and planting our seedlings.
Thank you all so much for following out blog, even though its been a bit stagnant lately. I'll definitely have more to post now with all the action that will be going on.
Blessings and Glory to God.
